The Baby Room

Located within Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 S. Pioneer Dr., Abilene; Open Wed. 9-1.

A ministry developed, and still managed, by Deacon Peggy Valentine, the Baby Room has operated for more than fifteen years. Referrals to the Baby Room are made by 2-1-1, hospitals, schools, other churches or agencies, and word of mouth. It is open once a week to serve families needing help for some of Abilene’s youngest and most vulnerable. In addition to numerous private donations, The Baby Room staff is grateful for generous financial support and encouragement from the Dian Graves Owen Foundation and from various funds at the Community Foundation of Abilene.

The Baby Room is open from 9-a.m. to 1 p.m. four Wednesdays a month (closed on any 5th Wednesday).  Volunteers stock and operate the store. Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to contact Peggy at pegleeval123@yahoo.com.

Donations of money are greatly appreciated and are applied fully to re-stocking Baby Room items. Donations of diapers, wipes, formula, newborn and infant clothing (new or gently used), strollers, car seats, and other necessities are also welcomed during open hours or by arrangement with Peggy (email above).  If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Baby Room, click here
